Telco sponsors interactive quiz with a serious cyber security message
From today Kiwis can discover whether they are a Digital Pace-setter, a Cautious Connector or somewhere in between – all in the interests of improving cyber security.
As part of Connect Smart Week, a new government-led initiative that kicked off today, Telecom is sponsoring an interactive online quiz that allows participants to discover their ‘digital clan’ and then offers them a series of tailored tips for staying secure online.
Telecom General Manager of Corporate Relations Andrew Pirie, who belongs to the Digital Pacesetters clan, said “Connect Smart Week has a serious message - at Telecom we are very aware of how cyber crime can impact on individuals and businesses, and how important it is for all of us to take the basic steps required keep ourselves safe online. But while the message may be serious, the delivery doesn’t always have to be, and that’s why we love this quiz. It’s fun and easy to do, and you get some great tips at the end of it.”
The quiz is hosted on the Connect Smart website - www.connectsmart.govt.nz. Participants answer 12 simple questions and are then presented with a profile of their digital clan – Digital Pacesetter, Digital Cowboy, Constant Connector, Digital Convert, or Cautious Connector. The profiles explain how each clan can take steps to ‘Connect Smart’.
Connect Smart Week runs from today (Monday 16 June) until Sunday 22 June.
