Wool.i.am the star of new campaign for Cavalier Bremworth
Long established New Zealand carpet maker Cavalier Bremworth has launched a quirky new ad campaign which focuses on its unique ability to manage the quality of its wool carpet from the farm right to the floor. It’s also a celebration of having Kiwis on the job every step of the way.

The hero of the campaign continues to be its animated sheep (Wool-i.am) who takes a journey with the wool from the farm to its tufting plant in Auckland. Cavalier Bremworth, as part of parent company Cavalier Corporation, is the only carpet maker that owns and controls the whole process for wool carpet production – it owns a wool buying business, a half share in the country’s biggest wool scours in Canterbury and Hawke’s Bay, and then its own dyeing and spinning plants in Napier, Wanganui and Christchurch.
Cavalier Bremworth’s marketing manager Desiree Keown said the new campaign continued a series of animated TVC’s reminding New Zealanders about the benefits of wool carpet. It also aimed to make the point that in buying Cavalier Bremworth wool carpet, consumers are supporting an iconic Kiwi company that has been around for 55 years.
“We’re a major New Zealand company that employs more than 550 staff and we want people to know that when they buy a Cavalier Bremworth wool carpet, there’s a whole chain of New Zealanders that benefit from that - from the farmer right through to transport operators and our retailers.
Support for the campaign was forthcoming from Buy NZ Made with Manager, Trina Snow, saying it was great to see a new campaign built around proudly New Zealand Made products and the people that make them. “We congratulate Cavalier Bremworth on their achievements to date and look forward to sharing this campaign as widely as possible”.
The new TVCs will be supported by billboards in high traffic areas in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch including airport sites. Social media will also be key in the campaign, encouraging New Zealanders to ‘share the sheep’ through Facebook and YouTube and to engage through a number of other initiatives including competitions to win lapel badges and t-shirts to support New Zealand wool. In line with its philosophy of supporting Kiwi businesses, the badges and t-shirts are all made here in New Zealand.
NZ made creative team
Appropriately, the new campaign was created and produced by another New Zealand company, 100% New Zealand-owned independent advertising agency, Federation.
Spincast, a New Zealand based manufacturer, made the metal lapel badges. Seabreeze Apparel specialise in New Zealand made clothing and screenprinting have made the Cavalier Bremworth t-shirts.
