Dr Andrew Cleland leaving IPENZ for Royal Society
Chief Executive Dr Andrew Cleland has resigned after 14 years at the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ).
His leaving date will be 5 September 2014, when he will move to the role of Chief Executive at the Royal Society of New Zealand.
During Dr Cleland’s tenure the growth of IPENZ membership doubled from 7000 members in 2000 to over 15,000 members in 2014.
IPENZ President Dr Kevin Thompson says Dr Cleland’s leadership has been significant in lifting the entire organisation’s capability.
“Andrew brought a tremendous amount of knowledge, vigour and guidance in his time at the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand, and we are extremely grateful for his contribution.”
“We wish Andrew the very best in his new role with the Royal Society of New Zealand.”
Dr
