New International Markets Manager for Destination Queenstown

Destination Queenstown appoints new International Markets Manager – Asia
Queenstown, New Zealand (11 June 2014) – Destination Queenstown (DQ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jiaming (Ella) Zhang to the position of International Markets Manager – Asia.
Ella brings strong tourism experience and industry relationships to her role, both internationally and in NZ, having worked within the industry in both China and NZ. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English and holds a BA Honours Degree in tourism management from Victoria University.
Currently employed as Guest Relations Manager/Hotel Assistant Manager at Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa, Ella has also worked as Business Development Manager for Pure Boutique NZ, an inbound operator specialising in the high end Chinese market. She has also previously worked for China Travel Service Group, based in China.
Destination Queenstown CEO Graham Budd is delighted to welcome Ella to the team.
“Ella has great industry and trade experience and a good understanding of Asian markets as well as the Queenstown tourism industry. I am excited to welcome her to the role of International Markets Manager – Asia, a position only recently created in line with the increasing importance and focus on the Asian markets. Ella’s skills and experience will be a great addition to the DQ team," says Mr Budd.
In her new role Ella will work across tourism trade channels, providing advice, training and knowledge about Queenstown for international travel sellers in our key Asian markets, including itinerary development and hosting of travel trade familiarisation visits.
She will be working alongside International Markets Manager – Western, Louise Jennis, representing Queenstown and its tourism operators internationally, driving trade knowledge and understanding of Queenstown as New Zealand’s leading four season lake and alpine resort.
Ella will commence her role at DQ on the 28th July 2014.
