Marketing executive making a splash at Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa
Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa is welcoming a new marketing manager – a Christchurch born lad with 13 years
marketing experience.
Shane Adcock has moved to Hanmer Springs to take up the position from his role at the Christchurch City Council where he
helped lead the award-winning ‘Share an Idea’ campaign.
Shane has also worked for several large Canterbury businesses including the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Christchurch Casino.
“It’s great to be back in the tourism sector, it’s exciting and challenging and I’m hugely passionate about Hanmer
Springs. Being a Christchurch boy, I have had many amazing holidays here and know the tourism value of the village.”
Shane says he’s looking forward to helping increase that value.
“There is enormous potential to further grow our international visitor numbers and to maximize digital marketing
opportunities.”
Part of Shane’s role will see him oversee the marketing for Hurunui Tourism as well.
“I’m equally passionate about the Hurunui. The district has some amazing hidden secrets – the rock art around Waikari,
Waipara’s incredible wineries, the Cathedral Cliffs near Gore Bay and the Weka Pass Railway. There’s plenty of
opportunity for us to increase visitor numbers by sharing those stories,” says Shane Adock.
As well as that, Shane and his family are looking forward to making the most of a new lifestyle in Hanmer Springs.
“I’m looking forward to hitting the mountain bike trails in particular and my daughter, Olivia (8), is talking about
getting into horse riding…we’ll see,” he smiles.
