Roccabella jewellry collaborates with tattoo artist Brock Fidow
A seamless combination of traditional tattoo and artisan jewellery makes INK a standout collection. The creative talents of Vikki George, creative director for Roccabella and artist Brock Fidow work together in complete harmony which you can clearly see from this collaborative collection.
The concept came about as Vikki sat in a tattoo studio as her friend was getting a tattoo done by Brock. ' The idea came to me as I was watching his process. I asked Brock if he would be interested in collaborating, which he was, so we just made it happen. The coming together of creative and talented minds is a beautiful thing" Vikki George
Featuring Brock Fidow...
"Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, I've always had a passion for art, from the moment my great grandmother put a pencil in my hand. It was a passion that changed and grew over the years, from dragonball z characters, to graffiti. I ended up finding tattoos through friends in the heavy music scene, and it all began. For the last 5 years I've lived and breathed tattoo and with as much fun as I'm having this is just the beginning with opportunities opening up everywhere.
I currently work at Otautahi Tattoo, Auckland, but guest at our Queenstown studio a few times a year and will be working a few times a year at the Christchurch store when we reopen there. I specialise in neo traditional tattooing, which to me involves taking elements of the classic western traditional tattoos but adding a more realistic feel to the designs. I also work in Japanese inspired tattooing, script lettering and dabble in a few other areas.
Whilst working on a neo traditional portrait in our Auckland store Vikki came in and we got talking about her Jewellery company, Roccabella jewellery, and how she too had to relocate from Christchurch to Auckland due to the earthquakes. We decided that a tattoo related collaboration had to happen so we've worked together to create this collection. Taking elements of the classic western traditional tattoo images among others, stylising them, and applying them to fine jewellery. This is the product of our new adventure, we hope you enjoy what we've come up with." Brock Fidow
