Syl Research appoints Andrew Hull As Chief Operating Officer
Wellington-based software company Syl Research (Syl) has appointed Andrew Hull as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer as the company accelerates its growth plans to go offshore.
Syl’s Managing Director Sean Wilson said, “Andrew has a track record of helping global organisations gain significant competitive advantage by embracing and utilising innovative technology. Having proven our technology in the New Zealand market, Syl is now embarking on an accelerated growth plan to expand offshore. Andrew has the necessary experience and connections to help make the company’s aspirations a reality.”
Andrew who has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) from Victoria University of Wellington majoring in information systems, commercial law and accountancy and is a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and CA, began his career with Westpac Banking Corporation as a Project Accountant before joining the Bank of New Zealand as a Senior Analyst.
From 1998-2003, he worked in London for Goldman Sach’s investment banking division in a number of roles before returning to New Zealand to take up a role as Manager – Business Enablement with AMP NZ Financial Services. In 2005 he was appointed Director, Information Technology with UBS Wealth Management in Singapore. In 2007 he was headhunted to join Barclays Bank where he had a number of senior roles including Head of Change Management Asia/Middle East, where he established a number of successful businesses for the Private Bank across the region.
Late last year, Andrew returned to New Zealand in order to utilise his experience assisting high-growth companies to develop and export their products and services which led to a full-time role with Syl
Sean Wilson said, “Andrew’s appointment is a key part of ensuring we get the right team in place to successfully execute the company’s accelerated growth plan that will make Syl a truly global company.”
