GOOD Travel launches GOOD Food tour in culinary hotspot Peru
GOOD Travel inspires travellers and tourism businesses to transform one of the world’s largest industries into a force
for GOOD. The new Wellington-based company has made a commitment to exclusively partner with hotels, restaurants and
tour operators that are actively working to improve their local community, environment and economy.
The company has just announced its inaugural GOOD Food tour in Peru, which will focus on the spectacular culinary
diversity and ingenuity of the gastronomic epicentre of Latin America. Eastbourne Co-Founder Eliza Raymond is looking
forward to turning her attention to food-inspired trips. “Peruvians are passionate about food and we believe the
country’s rich culinary traditions are one of the best ways to get to know Peru’s culture and traditions”, says Mrs
The 7-day trip (August 3-10, 2014) will begin on the coast of Peru in Lima, the country’s capital and home of the most
culinary schools in South America. The group will then travel to the Amazon jungle where they’ll have the opportunity to
participate in a traditional cooking workshop, search for giant river otters and stay at an eco-lodge. The final days of
the trip will be spent in Cusco in the Andes visiting local markets, participating in a Pisco Sour cocktail workshop,
and touring the Sacred Valley.
“We want to show travellers that having fun and creating positive change can go hand-in-hand,” explains Mrs Raymond.
“Each hotel, restaurant and tour operator we work with has been carefully selected for the GOOD that they’re doing.
We’re also proud to be able to contribute $200 from each trip fee to support a local charity that is enabling Peruvian
girls to study at culinary school and rise out of poverty.”
