2014 Harcourts National Awards Recipients

Matty Ma is again New Zealand’s best

Press Release: Harcourts

23 May 2014

She has done it again! Real estate phenomenon Matty Ma has been crowned the top sales consultant in New Zealand for the second year in a row.

Matty received her accolade at the 2014 Harcourts National Awards held this week at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland.

The Albany-based agent has experienced a meteoric rise in the real estate industry after immigrating to New Zealand 15 years ago.

Seven day weeks and a single minded focus on business have seen Matty achieve a remarkable $425 million in settled sales, with listings ranging from $300,000 to $55 million.

She has consistently placed in the Harcourts’ Top 20 chart over the past 10 years, winning the top spot three times, and has ranked number one in Auckland since 2008 thanks to her unrelenting work ethic and dedication to excellence.

Matty is also the 2012/2013 top sales consultant for Harcourts internationally, first out of 5,200 sales consultants across Australasia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Fiji, South Africa and the United States. Her ranking for 2013/2014 will be determined at the International Awards next week.

Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan says Matty works incredibly hard, usually seven days a week, and her success is very well deserved.

“Harcourts is full of incredibly hard working people, so you can appreciate just how special Matty is to win this award. Real estate is a very competitive industry and if you fail to perform, people will not give you a second chance. However, 95% of Matty’s business is repeat and referral – she is incredibly busy but she and her team give outstanding service to all her clients, not matter how big or small.”

Matty, who was a futures broker and journalist in China, has worked hard to establish excellent relations with overseas investors and new immigrants. Matty exhibited at the Shanghai Expo in China three years ago, as well as the Luxury Property Showcase in Shanghai last year.

She says she feels a big responsibility to represent Harcourts in the best way possible and she and her team go the extra distance for every single client.

Matty is also the country’s second top performing rural sales consultant, thanks to the many rural listings in the Albany area. The Albany office has also become one of Harcourts’ top national offices for revenue.

“I have four assistants who have excellent IT knowledge and we have good systems in place. We give our very best efforts to every one of our clients and that’s why we get so many referrals. I am often contacted about listings outside of Auckland, but I try to stick to the North Shore because that is where I know best and the place I can give the best service,” Matty says.

Press Release: Harcourts

23 May 2014

Hamilton’s Mike Neale has been recognised as the top commercial sales consultant in New Zealand.

Awarded the Top National NAI Harcourts Sales Consultant at the 2014 Harcourts National Awards this week, Mike has built a reputation as a professional who always delivers.

As such, his business is being bolstered by increasing repeat and referral business. Working alongside fellow agent and colleague Kara Gerrand, they have specialised in the Hamilton CBD, to regularly achieve a 50% plus market share in sales and leasing.

Mike, who is managing director of NAI Harcourts Hamilton Commercial, says he puts his success down to having an excellent team and a total focus on delivering an outstanding client experience.

“We do the hard work and always put in the extra effort to ensure our clients are 100% satisfied. People have high expectations. They want to be confident they have engaged the very best to help them buy, sell or lease a commercial investment. We are committed to being the very best.”

Mike says Hamilton currently has some of the best investment stock the region that has been seen in the last five years, in terms of the quality of the buildings, tenants and length of leases. It is this, the strong local economy and his commitment to a top client experience, that has seen Mike achieve great success in commercial transactions.

NAI Harcourts General Manager Michael Grainger says Mike Neale and his team are consistently top of mind for commercial investors and players in the Hamilton region.

“From the moment clients make contact with Mike, they are given the highest level of service. Mike’s marketing campaigns are professional and utilise the reach of the NAI Harcourts’ national and international database of investors. As a result his clients always walk away more than satisfied with what Mike and the team at Hamilton Commercial can achieve for them.

“NAI Harcourts has many top performing sales consultants, which makes this achievement all the more special for Mike. Congratulations on this well-deserved accolade.”

The best of the South Island, Cameron Bailey

Press Release: Harcourts

23 May 2014

An outstanding knowledge of his market and commitment to customer service has seen Christchurch’s Cameron Bailey recognised as the number two real estate sales consultant in New Zealand.

He was celebrated at the 2014 Harcourts National Awards held this week at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland.

Christchurch is one of the most challenging property markets in New Zealand, and there is little Cameron doesn’t know about it.

Whether it is selling a $170,000 unit or a $6 million mansion on the outskirts of the city, Cameron can tell you the best way to market your property and achieve top price.

Working out of Harcourts’ Papanui branch, Cameron says his success is down to a simple combination of long hours, hard work, great support and a comprehensive understanding of the Christchurch market.

“I’ve lived in this city all my life and I know every corner of it. People want to deal with someone who understands the market and where it is going. Sales remain very strong, although prices have settled a little. It’s good for Christchurch and means people can buy and sell confidently,” Cameron says.

Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan says around 80% of Cameron’s business is through referrals or repeat customers.

“That’s a sign of someone who understands how to put people first and achieve for them the very best results. Cameron Bailey is what Harcourts is all about. He’s been in our New Zealand Top 20 sales consultants for the past five years for a very good reason.”

Cameron is also the 2012/2013 third ranked sales consultant for Harcourts internationally, out of 5,200 sales consultants across Australasia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Fiji, South Africa and the United States. His ranking for 2013/2014 will be determined at the International Awards next week.

The nice guy of real estate wins number 3 ranking

Press Release: Harcourts

23 May 2014

Anton Huang is widely known as the gentleman of real estate, and his friendly approach has seen him achieve the number 3 ranking for sales consultants in New Zealand.

He was recognised at the 2014 Harcourts National Awards held this week at the Viaduct Event Centre in Auckland.

Anton, who is based at Harcourts Howick, has only been a real estate sales consultant for six years, but in that time he has ranked in the Harcourts Top 10 four times. With almost 2000 sales consultants working for Harcourts, this is an outstanding achievement.

He attributes his success to hard work, discipline and his connection with his local community.

“I have a huge database and am in direct contact with them as often as possible. Although I’m Chinese, my database is the entire community. The majority of my clients are Kiwis and I try to connect with everyone I meet. I think this has helped my business.”

As well as achieving the national number three ranking, Anton has been awarded the Top National Auction/ Tender Lister for New Zealand.

Anton says the properties he lists consistently sell at auction.

“In the last year I have sold nearly 100 properties at auction and it’s a very successful way to market my clients’ homes. It helps me get the best possible result for them.”

Working up to 70 hours a week, Anton now has many repeat and referral clients, which signals the high level of customer service he delivers.

Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan says Anton is very well liked within real estate and his work ethic is to be admired.

“Our Harcourts salespeople are all very hard workers, so Anton’s efforts are particularly special. To have only been in real estate for six years and to already be where he is, is a phenomenal effort. Congratulations Anton. You show that nice guys actually finish first.”

The best of the rural best

Press Release: Harcourts

23 May 2014

Aaron Davey makes a promise to all his clients that he will give them the same advice and service that he would to a close friend or family member.

It is a philosophy that has led Aaron, of Harcourts Hamilton Glenview, to be crowned the Top National Rural Sales Consultant for the third year in a row.

He received his award at this week’s Harcourts 2014 National Awards at the Viaduct Event Centre in Auckland.

Aaron says a great team, consisting of his wife Kellie Davey, his PA Kylie Anderson and salesperson Stacey Levien, and a strong marketing and auction focus are the key drivers of his success.

“My amazing team means I can focus solely on my vendors, and really deliver on my promise to give them the same advice and service I would to my family. We are also focused on always improving, always finding ways to provide better service.”

Specialising in lifestyle blocks, Aaron knows the Waikato extremely well and is able to sell the benefits of the region to buyers from all over the country.

“It’s a beautiful part of New Zealand, and we have many people from outside of Hamilton looking to make this their home, as well as a number of ex-pats returning from Australia.”

Harcourts CEO Hayden Duncan says once again Aaron has had an outstanding year.

“To win the title of Top National Rural Sales Consultant for three years running is proof of Aaron’s talent and dedication to his clients.

“Aaron is in regular contact with his database of clients, and when they are ready to sell he works closely with them to achieve their goals. Much of his business is repeat and referral because of his commitment to excellent customer service.”
