ANZ backs New Zealand Cricket
ANZ and New Zealand Cricket today announced that they have re-signed a three-year sponsorship deal. ANZ is proud to
continue as a major sponsor and the official bank of New Zealand Cricket, including the ANZ International Series.
ANZ has supported New Zealand Cricket for 15 seasons, making it one of the longest-running sport related sponsorships in
New Zealand.
“We've enjoyed standing by the sport at all levels since 1999, and we’re extremely proud to be standing behind New
Zealand’s favourite summer sport for the next three years,” said ANZ Chief Executive, David Hisco.
“Our support spans from the grassroots to the elite levels of the game, providing equipment and funding for players,
coaches, administrators, clubs, schools, families and fans.
“Over the past four years, the ANZ Grant Scheme has given out $400,000 in cricket-related community grants over to help
players, teams, clubs and schools get the most out of the game and promote the development of New Zealand’s future
cricketing talent.”
NZC Chief Executive David White said ANZ is a valuable member of the cricketing family.
“ANZ has been an integral part of cricket for the past 15 years and we’re thrilled to have their ongoing support. We
look forward to continuing our close working relationship into the future,” he said.
BLACKCAPS captain Brendon McCullum says it’s fantastic to have ANZ’s continued support.
“ANZ has done a lot for the sport over the years, not only in terms of their support of the ANZ International Series at
home each summer, but also their contribution to grassroots cricket. It’s an exciting summer coming up for us and as
players we’re grateful for the incredible support ANZ continues to provide,” he said.
As well as the ANZ International Series and the ANZ Grant Scheme, ANZ also supports other activities to encourage
participation in cricket at all levels.
