New Line-up for More FM Dunedin’s Breakfast Show
More FM breakfast host and ‘un-official Mayor of Dunedin’, Damian Newell has a new co-host. Kellie Ashdown will join the popular local Breakfast show on May 27.
Ashdown has worked at MediaWorks’ Auckland for the past 11 years, as a freelance newsreader for More FM, RadioLIVE and The Sound, a traffic reporter across all MediaWorks Radio brands, and more recently as a weekend network announcer on More FM.
“This is a ‘bucket list’ tick for my radio career,” Ashdown says. “Not only to do Breakfast radio with someone as highly regarded as Damian, but to do it in a place as beautiful and dynamic as Dunedin is a dream come true – I can’t wait to get down there and get stuck in!”
General Manager of MediaWorks Radio Dunedin, Cindy Davies says, “We couldn’t be happier to be welcoming Kellie to the More FM family here in Dunedin. Kellie is an exceptional broadcaster with a wealth of experience in several facets of the industry – she’s a great addition to our excellent team, and to a Breakfast show that’s a true Dunedin institution.”
Damian Newell is also looking forward to Ashdown’s arrival. “It’s always exciting to start something new and even more so when it’s something you love,” said Newell. “Poor Kellie has no idea what she’s signed up for!”
Tune in from 6am, May 27 to listen to the More FM Breakfast show with Damian and Kellie on 97.4 More FM.
More FM Dunedin is part of a network of 22 local More FM stations across New Zealand, playing the best mix of the 80s to now. Tune in to More FM Dunedin locally on 97.4 FM, online at morefm.co.nz and via the popular More FM mobile app.
