SIGNIFICANT UPDATES TO NZB WEANLING & BROODMARE CATALOGUE

A number of significant pedigree updates have strengthened next week’s New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale (12 & 13 May), headed by two stakes winning two-year-olds.

There are 19 weanlings with siblings or half-siblings that have won races since the catalogue went to print, including:

• Lot 13 – A half-sister to Listed ARC Champagne Stakes winner Caduceus(Lucky Unicorn) byShocking.

• Lot 73 – A half-brother byDalghar out of Group 1 winner Macavelli Miss(Vettori) to Danish Rock(Stratum), the winner of two races in Australia since the catalogue went to print.

• Lot 74 – A half-brother to debut two-year-old winnerAndnowurmine (Don Eduardo) by Nom du Jeu.

• Lot 89 – A half-brother by Iffraaj to last weekend’s Listed CJC Champagne Stakes winner Elusive Catch (Elusive City).

• Lot 91 – A half-sister by Uncle Mo to Khaya (Librettist) who finished third in the HK-3 Queen Mother Memorial Cup in Hong Kong.

• Lot 176 – A half-brother by Showcasing to last start winner Langdon (Don Eduardo) who has also been Group 3 placed in the Hawkes Bay Gold Cup. Langdon will have a chance to further enhance his race record in tomorrow’s Group 3 Rotorua Cup.

• Lot 259 – A half-brother to Sandown winner Search Squad (Falkirk) by Per Incanto.

Other siblings or half-siblings to recent winners include Lot 34, Lot 47, Lot 54, Lot 65, Lot 96, Lot 125, Lot 165, Lot 172, Lot 217, Lot 262 & Lot 265.

The horses-in-training section has a notable update with Lot 316 African Star (Iffraaj) finishing third on Wednesday at Matamata.

Broodmares with progeny that have been successful since the catalogue went to print include:

• Lot 335 Gin City (Heroicity) – Dam of recent Avondale winner I’ve Got Faith(Keep the Faith).

• Lot 350 Just Polly (O’Reilly) – Dam of Hong Kong winner O’Halo (My Halo).

• Lot 372 Mac Five (Faltaat) – Dam of debut two-year-old winner Andnowurmine(Don Eduardo).

• Lot 394 My Fiancee (Snitzel) – Full-sister to Sydney Group 3 James HB Carr Stakes winner Estonian Princess (Snitzel).

• Lot 445 Shock (Keeper) – Dam of Avondale winner Tokomutu Judge(Volksraad).

• Lot 473 Western World (Gone West) – Dam of Danon Volcano, a dual winner in Japan.

• Lot 516 Contemplate (Dream Well) – Dam of two Australian winners Atlantis Dream (Elusive City) & El Gaucho (Don Eduardo).

• Lot 523 Cruz Control (Centaine) – Dam of Cruz By (Pentire), now a winner of three races in Queensland.

New Zealand Bloodstock’s two-day National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale is at Karaka on 12 & 13 May. The first day of selling commences with the Weanling Session on Monday 12 May. The second day of the Sale (Tuesday 13 May) features the Broodmare & mixed bloodstock sessions.
