Stamford Plaza Concierge team members presented with their keys and membership into the prestigious New Zealand Les
Clefs d’Or Society
Chief Concierge Adam Drissi and Hotel Concierge Arie Jackman were surrounded by friends, family, colleagues and current
Les Clefs d’Or members last night to receive the prestigious society’s emblem of membership, two crossed gold keys.
Visibly excited and relieved to have been accepted, both Adam and Arie spoke of their immense pride and personal
satisfaction that this night has brought them.
“Today is a very special day, one where I feel complete as a Concierge” said Adam, Aries’s response was more one of
allowing for further growth “It has been such a long road to get to this point, but I feel this journey is only just
beginning”.
Both thanked their mentors and industry colleagues that have supported them both through their careers and the intensive
process it takes to become a member and finally be able to wear “The Keys”.
Paul Evan’s General Manager of Stamford Plaza and himself a long standing honorary member of Le Clefs d’Or spoke of the
prestige and dedication it takes to become one of only 23 members within New Zealand.
“Having a Les Clefs d’Or member on your concierge team is a very important part of being a five star Hotel, the process
of becoming a member is far from easy, it takes time, dedication and immense amounts of industry knowledge. It’s a
special day when a hotel can say it has two of its Concierge in the Les Clefs d’Or family”.
To meet the strict criteria held by Union Internationale des Concierge d'Hotels Les Clefs d'Or, of which there are 4,000
members worldwide, both Adam and Arie completed an intensive 2 hour interview, including questions regarding all things
Auckland and New Zealand tourism. Both have completed the necessary minimum five years experience working in the lobby
of a five star hotel, three of which are as Concierge, Assistant or Chief Concierge.
“This is an achievement that I have been working towards throughout my career, Les Clefs d’Or’s credo of In service through friendship is one that I intend to embody fully” said Adam
Arie thanked Stamford Plaza for “Providing me a true five star environment, one that has allowed me to progress and
develop into a recognised customer service professional”.
Membership brings not only the prestige of the ‘Gold Keys’, but also a number of professional, training and mentoring
opportunities. The network of established industry professionals is close and collaborative, a notion first introduced
when in October 1929, three of the more prominent Concierges met in Paris to exchange service tips and ideas. From here
the idea of Les Clefs d’Or was born.
Stamford Plaza Auckland is the central city’s premier Hotel, situated only a short walk from the finest dining, shopping
and entertainment precincts.
