Cowboys, ladyboys and big orange buses
Picture this! It’s a regular Wednesday night in Auckland on the infamous Karangahape Road. A mass of cowboys and
ladyboys have just entered a secret location. A not so inconspicuous giant orange bus is parked outside.
No, this is not some dodgy backstreet gathering. It’s the Stray New Zealand and Southeast Asia seasonal brochure launch
party held on April 30, 2014 at KFM Radio Station.
Local travel agents joined Stray staff in a cowboy and ladyboy themed celebration to launch the release of Stray Asia’s
fantastic new Vietnam video showcasing this amazing destination and the shiny new Stray New Zealand winter brochure.
“Last year we added Vietnam to our already extensive travel network. We are so very proud to be able to showcase this
amazing destination and are thrilled to offer customers a real Vietnam experience,” Holly Zimmerman, General Manager
Stray Asia.
Stray New Zealand also announced a change to their North Island network. Lucky passengers now get the chance to spend
two nights in the top-rated overnight stop Blue Duck Station, a working sheep and beef station and conservation effort
in the ‘real’ New Zealand.
“Our customers spoke and we listened. Blue Duck Station is continuously a Stray favourite, with passenger feedback
saying one night is just never enough. By giving our passengers the extra night at Blue Duck they’ll really get to
immerse themselves in this amazing destination,” Heather Bailey, General Manager Stray New Zealand.
As always it was an epic night, with travel agents and operators from all over New Zealand joining in the fun and
dressing up in a random mix of cowboy hats, sparkly dresses, stilettos and cow costumes.
