Plenty of inspiration at MEETINGS 18-19 June 2014
Event organisers searching for fresh inspiration are in for a treat at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds for MEETINGS 2014.
The two-day exhibition organised by Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) showcases all aspects of New Zealand’s business events industry and is a one-stop shop for event organisers.
“Registration is free and event organisers can attend as day buyers on either Wednesday, June 18 or on Thursday, June 19. They will have access to more than 180 exhibitors spread across two pavilions and can roam at their leisure,’’ says Event Manager, Jeanette Stanton.
“If you are looking for inspiration for your next event or you simply want to learn more about New Zealand’s enchanting regions then we strongly urge you to come along and see what is on offer.”
Day buyers attending on either of the exhibition days have the opportunity to register for a gourmet lunch courtesy of Millennium Hotels & Resorts. Popular Kiwi actor and star of The Hobbit movies, Mark Hadlow will MC the lunch, which will be held in the Logan Campbell Centre next to the exhibition pavilions.
“Our top chefs from Millennium Hotels and Resorts around the country will be descending on Auckland to cook up a storm for day buyers,” says Alison Smith, Millennium’s National Director of Sales, Conferences and Incentives.
After the lunch day buyers can stay on and experience MEETINGS’ Speaker Showcase. Sponsored and organised annually by Celebrity Speakers, this event has become one of the most popular features of MEETINGS. This year’s Day Buyer luncheons and Speaker Showcase is also supported by Edwards – Sound, Lighting, Audio Visual.
This year’s line-up of speakers include:
* Michele A’Court, Master of Ceremonies, New Zealand Comedy Guild Awards Female Comedian of the Decade, Michele A'Court is renowned for her work on stage, TV, radio and print media, and as an event MC and social commentator.
* Marcus Winter, an artist whose work blurs the lines between conventional painting, street art (using sand) and theatrical performance.
* Rob Waddell, an Olympic gold medallist, Team New Zealand grinder and chef de mission who will inspire with his messages of success and achievement.
* Dillon Boucher, a New Zealand basketball legend who will speak about the parallels between his sporting experiences and corporate success.
* Denise L’Estrange-Corbet, one of New Zealand's best known fashion designers and co-owner and director of the successful "World" retail stores and clothing label. She will share her inspirational story of how it all started from nothing and how she managed to overcome some major challenges.
“It is always inspiring to hear from people at the top of their fields and we’re hoping as many day buyers as possible will take the opportunity to attend the Speakers Showcase because it is always an uplifting, energising experience,’’ says Ms Stanton.
Event organisers wanting to attend MEETINGS as day buyers need to register at www.meetings.co.nz/daybuyer.
“We will confirm your registration and have a registration pack ready for your arrival at ASB Showgrounds,’’ says Ms Stanton.
Parking at the Showgrounds during MEETINGS is free.
