INFINZ Awards Recognises Excellence in Capital Markets

INFINZ INDUSTRY AWARDS RECOGNISES EXCELLENCE IN CAPITAL MARKETS

Two Fellowships and 13 Awards were presented to finance professionals at the annual INFINZ awards last night (Thursday 8 May).

More than 800 people attended the black tie dinner at The Langham Hotel in Auckland, held to recognise excellence in New Zealand’s capital markets.

“By highlighting the outstanding participants in our industry, we hope to raise standards across the entire marketplace,” says Jim McElwain, Executive Director of INFINZ (the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc).

“Our focus is on those actions and individuals who have added most value to corporate New Zealand and hence the economy.”

Two INFINZ Fellowships were also conferred - on David Green, who is Managing Director, Institutional, ANZ, and Sue Brown, who leads the FMA’s Strategy, Innovation & Engagement change programme.

About the INFINZ Industry Awards
2014 is the 12th year of the INFINZ Industry Awards. Their purpose is to recognise excellence in the NZ capital markets and to raise standards in the marketplace. Each Award has its own criteria and judging process. Most awards are determined by judging submissions but some are determined by voting. Twenty-six individual judges, 15 fund managers and six broking firms were involved in judging the 2014 awards. INFINZ Fellowships are also conferred to recognise those who have made an outstanding contribution to the NZ capital markets.
