T’is the season
At the weekend New Zealand’s duck shooting season started with a bang. So too has ‘tax season’ which runs from 1 April –
mid June. With less than 6 weeks to go until the refunds are flying, hard working Kiwis should do their tax returns by
the end of May to ensure they get payment in mid-June.
Duck shooting is way more complicated than claiming a tax refund. Duck hunters need a hunting licence, shotgun and shot,
camouflage gear and face paint, well designed and positioned maimai, decoys, retriever dog or boat, duck caller, must
comply with a 50 bird limit and spend an entire weekend in a maimai with no guarantee you’ll even be successful.
