Get collecting at Countdown with DreamWorks Heroes
5 May 2014 - A limited edition range of DreamWorks Heroes 3D collectible character cards is launching in Countdown
stores this month.
From now until stocks last, shoppers can be part of the action and start their own collections of some of DreamWorks
Animation’s most beloved characters including Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, Turbo, The Croods and Puss in Boots.
For every $20 spent in-store or online, customers will receive a three dimensional style collector’s card, containing
mesmerising visuals and fascinating facts. And, to complete the treasured collection, a special collector’s album with
spaces for all 42 cards is available to fill up along the way.
Countdown’s General Manager Marketing, Bridget Lamont, says it’s a fun and engaging way for parents to entertain their
children while shopping.
“From Shrek and Donkey, to Alex the Lion and Puss in Boots, this colourful collection is about bringing back the classic
hobby of collecting that’s both playful and also encourages sharing with other children,” says Bridget.
From today, families will also be able to download the free, reality Countdown Heroes DreamWorks App to engage further
with their cards. The app, which is available from the iTunes store and Google Play, allows children to bring their
cards characters to life and interact with their favourite DreamWorks heroes like never before.
DreamWorks Animation’s Head of International Consumer Products Jonathan Baker said: "We're excited to align with
Countdown for this collection and to bring New Zealand’s favourite DreamWorks characters to fans of all ages. The 3D
cards and app really bring the characters to life, offering a fun and interactive character experience beyond the
theatre screen."
Countdown’s website will also be home to a range of DreamWorks recipes, games and activities for collectors wanting to
take full part in the action.
