Hotel Industry Awards – Call For Entries
New Zealand’s valuable hotel sector is looking to recognise individual and environmental excellence as it calls for
entries for the 2014 Hotel Industry Awards.
Entries are being sought for three awards:
•Hotel Industry Senior Executive of the Year – an individual who is a role model and has a passion for their work so great that they go beyond the call of duty.
•Hotel Industry Outstanding Young Executive of the Year – a rising star who has made an exceptional contribution to their employer and to the hotel industry over the past 12
months.
•Hotel Industry Environmental Initiative Award – a hotel or individual that has shown innovation above and beyond all others in order to neutralise environmental
impacts. This initiative may have the potential to change the way the hotel industry operates.
The winners will be announced at the 2014 New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference dinner at the Pullman Auckland on 5
June. The conference is co-hosted by the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA) and Horwath HTL.
“The hotel sector is a major contributor to New Zealand’s tourism industry – generating jobs and economic wealth. TIA’s
130 hotel members throughout new Zealand employ nearly 11,000 staff with annual revenues of more than $866 million,”
says TIA Communications Manager Ann-Marie Johnson.
“The annual awards are the hotel industry’s opportunity to recognise excellence and to give public recognition to the
individuals and hotels that are committed to delivering an outstanding visitor experience.”
Horwath HTL Ltd Director Terry Ngan says the award entry process is very straightforward and individuals can either
self-nominate or be nominated by colleagues or employers.
“As well as the positive publicity for the individuals and their hotel properties, each winner will receive a fantastic
prize – anelectronic product to the value of $1000 (including GST).”
