SolarCity NZ acquires specialist solar installation company
To continue the growth of its in-house engineering expertise, SolarCity NZ today announced the acquisition of SmartSparky, a specialist solar design and installation company.
SolarCity NZ is the country’s leading solar power company, and is the only solar company in New Zealand with in-house engineering expertise to support the wider installer network.
“SolarCity is committed to improving technical solar training and the standard of installations across the nation,” says Andrew Booth, CEO of SolarCIty NZ. “This acquisition will strengthen our technical support nationwide, further securing our ability to deliver a ‘one-stop-shop’ solution for solar."
This month, SmartSparky is completing the contract to oversee the installation of a large solar system for the iconic Auckland War Memorial Museum, which will be an important educational showcase for the industry.
“The combined expertise of SolarCity and SmartSparky will help deliver a vision of excellence for solar installations across New Zealand,” says Mark Eagles of SmartSparky.
“After seven years of working and training around New Zealand and the Pacific region I am very excited about partnering with SolarCity NZ and meeting the challenges ahead, as solar becomes an increasing part of our energy mix."
