Hospo people recognise their best
Workers and associates of the Hawke’s Bay hospitality sector have spoken and the Finalists for the Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards 2014 have been announced.
Only people in the industry are eligible to make a nomination, naming who they think best deserves to be recognised. This formula promotes excellence within hospitality and raises the performance of workers striving to be the best.
The finalist list includes some establishments and personnel who are highly regarded amongst the industry, proving they have stood the test of time and also recognised are new, emerging establishments offering a fresh and innovative dining experience to the region.
Vicky Rope, Manager Food Hawke’s Bay, organiser of the event said “it’s great to have such a high calibre of finalists, such as the coffee baristas that have represented NZ in championships, and the return of long running establishments standing their ground in a busy dining market”.
The next phase of the event sees the industry vote for one of the four finalists in each category and the person or establishment that receives the most votes in their category will be announced as the winner at an awards ceremony to be held at the MTG Century Theatre, on Monday 19th May 2014.
As with any event that relies on sponsorship there are challenges in the current business environment, but we are extremely fortunate to have returning sponsors involved and also welcome new sponsors Zeelandt Brewery producing hand crafted boutique beers; Basepoint a local company bringing global supply advantages to meet local demand; the Napier i-Site whose team of experts help locals and visitors to find the best cafes around and Elephant Hill offering premium wines, fine dining and an idyllic location.
These awards can only be held because of the generous support of all the sponsor companies.
