Wendy Palmer Appointed Chief Executive of MediaWorks Radio
MediaWorks Radio has appointed Wendy Palmer as Chief Executive of the Radio business, which includes national radio brands The Edge, The Rock, MORE FM, Kiwi FM, RadioLIVE, LiveSPORT, The Sound, The Breeze, George FM, and Mai FM.
Wendy Palmer has substantial experience in the Radio sector, across Sales, Programming and Research. She has been with MediaWorks for eight years, and has held the role of General Manager of the Auckland Radio operation for the past seven.
MediaWorks Group Managing Director, Sussan Turner says: “Wendy is a genuine all-rounder with proven commercial leadership. She has a deep understanding of the opportunities available to our business, and the experience, expertise and personal qualities to lead the Radio business to new successes.”
Palmer takes over from Belinda Mulgrew who leaves MediaWorks Radio in a position of strength in the commercial radio market after four years as Chief Executive.

Wendy Palmer has held senior management positions across the Radio industry in a career spanning more than 25 years. For the past seven years, she has been General Manager for MediaWorks’ Auckland Radio operation, having originally joined the company as General Manager of More FM in 2005. Between 1991-2005, Palmer was Managing Director of Market Pulse, a market leader in field marketing, merchandising and customer measurement. Palmer was the founder of the company, which now has offices in Auckland, Sydney, Bangkok, and Cape Town, and continues to sit on the Board. Before establishing Market Pulse, Palmer held roles at both Radio Hauraki and 89FM, initially as Research and Operations Manager and later as General Manager at 89FM.
