NAIT cleans up farmers’ inboxes

NAIT cleans up farmers’ inboxes

Significant improvements to NAIT notification emails are set to reduce the amount of time spent online for farmers and make it easier to keep their NAIT records up to date.

“A new style of email notification is about to be introduced, which will contain more detail about what has occurred and clear instructions if any action needs to be taken,” said Dr Stu Hutchings, OSPRI New Zealand Group Manager, Programme Design and Farm Operations.

One new feature is a link in the email a user receives when they have a movement to confirm. The link will take them directly to that movement in the NAIT system. There they can view the animals in the movement and confirm or reject them in just a few clicks.

Farmers will also have complete control over which emails they receive, so they can focus on what’s important to them. These email preferences can be set in a few minutes by logging into your NAIT account.

“Everyone has a role to play in safeguarding New Zealand’s livestock industry and it’s important that farmers keep their NAIT records up to date. In the event of a disease outbreak, NAIT data will enable a faster and more efficient response, so farmers can get back to business sooner,” said Dr Hutchings.

“Having a system like NAIT enhances our reputation for producing safe, high quality products and helps maintain access to global markets.”

“We’ve listened to farmers’ feedback and have been actively working to make our systems and processes more user friendly. This improvement to the notification service is one of several enhancements we will be rolling out this year to make it easier for farmers and companies to meet their NAIT requirements,” said Dr Hutchings.
