NetHui 2014 website launched: programme ideas wanted
InternetNZ (Internet New Zealand Inc) has launched the website NetHui2014 and is calling for ideas for this year’s
seminal Internet event.
Fresh from the huge success of last year’s NetHui, InternetNZ is calling for suggestions for the programme, as well as
seeking volunteers.
InternetNZ CEO Jordan Carter said he was excited about the fourth NetHui, as each year something new, exciting and
challenging is thrown up.
"Last year we had Quinn Norton give a hell of a key note speech, and we also had Sir Bruce Ferguson as part of an
eye-opening panel about surveillance. I’m sure that the ideas suggested by the community will lead to a bigger and more
exciting NetHui 2014.
“We’re looking for ideas for themes, sessions and speakers. We encourage people to visit www.nethui.org.nz and let us know their thinking. We’ll be providing updates frequently so it will pay to check back often."
NetHui 2014 is happening in Auckland at Sky City and runs from 9 – 11 July. It is a three day event that brings together
everyone involved with Internet issues in New Zealand. NetHui is based on the format of multi-stakeholder collaboration
successfully introduced by the global Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
