ARANZ Geo sets up in Brazil as global expansion continues
CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand, 6 March 2014 – ARANZ Geo Limited, the New Zealand headquartered developer of 3D geological modelling software Leapfrog®, has opened
an office in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, offering Leapfrog sales and support.
Shaun Maloney, ARANZ Geo’s CEO says, “We’ve seen nearly a 50% increase in license take up in the Brazilian market in the
past year and we’re committed to offering the best support we can to this fast growing user base.
“Brazil boasts a rich variety of mineral deposits and has a modern mining industry eager to embrace technological
advances. The top down workflow approach of Leapfrog Geo is ideal for handling large amounts of data, developing
multiple models and further reducing risk in both operating mines and exploration.”
Leapfrog Geo’s workflow solution allows users to rapidly construct multiple geological models that consider multiple
hypotheses, tested against multiple futures for more realistic, sophisticated and robust evaluation. New information is
quickly and dynamically added, keeping models up-to-date. The self-documenting approach facilitates easy collaboration,
checking and auditing.
Leapfrog Brazil will offer Leapfrog Fundamentals training, 30 day evaluation licenses, email and phone support, and
project assistance. Provided by qualified and experienced geologists, project assistance will deliver expert
collaboration on modelling projects to further fast track progress.
Experienced mining geologist Ignacio Torresi has been appointed as Brazil Country Manager. “With the set up of the
Brazil office our customers will be able to contact a local Leapfrog expert who speaks their language, lives in their
time zone and has an understanding of local conditions. Leapfrog products rapidly speed up the modelling process and
enable time critical decision making and so it’s essential we’re on hand to respond when needed.”
Torresi is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and has worked as an Exploration, QAQC, Lead and Modelling
Geologist in both Argentina and Brazil. He will be joined in the office by new appointments Daniela Ximenes, Commercial
Manager and Marcelo Freitas, Project Geologist. Nick Fogarty continues as Latin American Regional Director.
Ximenes, a lawyer with an MBA in Business Administration (Ibmec MG) and an MBA in Corporate Finance (FGV), is
responsible for managing ARANZ Geo key accounts in Latin America. She has gained extensive experience in business
development and commercial relations working in New Zealand, UK, USA and France and is fluent in English, Spanish and
Portuguese.
Marcelo Freitas, a graduate from UFMG with a Bachelor of Science, will offer expert project assistance and Leapfrog
support. Freitas has over five years experience in modelling and strategic planning of mineral exploration within Brazil
and Latin America and speaks fluent English and Spanish.
ARANZ Geo has grown steadily since Leapfrog (www.leapfrog3d.com) was first introduced to the mining industry in 2004. The company’s strategy is to offer localised expert support for
hands on help and assistance where it’s needed.

Africa, Denmark, Canada, Chile and Peru. The R and head office is based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The announcement is to be made at PDAC 2014 in Toronto, the international convention, trade show and investors exchange
for mining exploration. Over 1,000 exhibitors and 30,000 attendees are expected to attend the four-day event from more
than 120 countries.
