Global logistics provider to move into new office and warehouse at Auckland Airport
Auckland Airport has announced that it is to design and build a new head office, ambient and controlled-temperature warehousing and international air and ocean logistics facility for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Limited.
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is one of the world’s leading privately owned global logistics providers. Founded in 1871 in Germany, the fourth generation family-owned company has an active network of over 19,000 people in 443 branches in 157 countries.
The 12,500 square metre facility will occupy the prominent site on the corner of George Bolt Memorial Drive and Landing Drive and will be completed in the third quarter of 2015.
Simon Robertson, Auckland Airport’s chief financial officer, says “We are delighted to have attracted such a high quality tenant and we are committed to creating a building of high architectural quality for them on what is the main road to and from the airport.”
“This tenancy further confirms that ‘The District at Auckland Airport’ is rapidly becoming one of New Zealand’s best business locations. It also shows that our property transformation programme, to turn us into a great place to work, rest, play and shop, is paying real dividends.”
Chris McCagney, Hellmann New Zealand’s managing director, says “Our owners, Jost and Klaus Hellmann, have committed Hellmann globally to a very high bar in terms of service excellence, quality, innovation and environmental care. This development ticks all the right boxes.”
“The move to this unique facility at Auckland Airport will bring together the ambient and controlled-temperature operations of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and Hellmann Perishable Logistics in Auckland onto a single prime site, increasing our agility, operating efficiency and capacity for growth.”
“We are also investing directly alongside Auckland Airport here. The warehousing and international air and ocean logistics facility will incorporate a significant investment by Hellmann in environmentally friendly and energy efficient controlled-temperature infrastructure. This reinforces our commitment to many of New Zealand’s leading exporters and importers”.
“Our people are looking forward to relocating to the new facility in 2015 and to the benefits this will bring to our customers.”
