NZ Clinic Develops Latest Cosmedical Treatment for "Renewed Radiance" Of Skin
Renewed Radiance, an exciting new treatment to improve skin thickness, texture and luminosity, has been developed by
Auckland cosmetic medical clinic, The Face Place.
The innovative treatment is the brainchild of The Face Place founder Dr Catherine Stone, who received international
recognition with her appearances on the television programme Ten Years Younger.
"My favourite thing about this treatment is that you're using your body's own platelets and natural healing systems,"
says Dr Stone. "The downtime is minimal compared to similar treatments and because you are using something that is
yours, there is almost no chance of a reaction or over correction - it's just a reminder to the body that it needs to
come and repair the tissues. It can be used on almost all skin types with great results."
Results include reduced pore size, bouncier skin and an improvement of the fine crepey skin around the eyes. The
improvement is gradual and results are cumulative, so, while people have seen great results with just one treatment, Dr
Stone recommends a course of 3-4 treatments over a 4-6 month period, suggesting a top up with a single treatment once or
twice a year.
Renewed Radiance is a unique treatment, inspired by the great success The Face Place team was experiencing with PRP
(platelet-rich plasma), a treatment that renews and regenerates tissues using the power of your own platelets.
PRP has been used effectively for nearly a decade to help repair tendon and ligament problems, and to assist top-level
athletes, such as Tiger Woods, recover from injury.
The team experimented with PRP through the e-dermastamp (EDS) machine, which is the latest in dermal needling technology
and involves micro needles creating tiny holes in the dermis of the skin to stimulate collagen production, skin
rejuvenation and repair. They found that the EDS machine consistently delivered the platelets directly into the layer of
skin - the dermal-epidermal junction - where they’re most effective.
Dr Stone had noted that the machine had a reservoir allowing for infusion of a healing and hydrating solution containing
HA (hyaluronan), a substance found naturally in our tissues that attracts water to provide hydration and plumpness to
the skin. It has also been proven to improve cellular communication within tissues.
Dr Stone launched the innovative treatment before attending a conference in Venice attended by many of the top PRP
doctors in the world – and was happy to see The Face Place was ahead of the latest research.
“I was amazed at what PRP is being used for - from wound healing and scar reduction to dry eye, arthritis and hair
loss,” says Dr Stone. “One of the keynote sessions was the launch of a new PRP 'tube' combining PRP with HA - the same
sort of HA we had been trialling. The HA apparently provides a scaffold in which the platelets feel protected, so they
produce more healing growth factors and last for longer than when administered with other products or by themselves. It
felt good to have launched our new treatment and then have it confirmed at the conference as being ahead of the pack.”
Clients who have trialled the new treatment report rave reviews from their friends about the quality of their skin,
which became softer, thicker, tighter and more luminous, with fewer fine lines.
