MICE and weddings markets in the spotlight
Rotorua, 20 February 2014 - Rotorua's Rainbow Springs and Agrodome, along with Hukafalls Jet in Taupo, are re-launching
into the conference and wedding markets with the appointment of a new dedicated MICE manager.
Charged with invigorating the market with the Rainbow Springs and Agrodome offering, as well as Hukafalls Jet, MICE
Market Sales Manager Diane Curtis has returned to New Zealand with a wealth of experience after working for many years
in Sales and Marketing Manager roles with international brand hotels in China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Fiji.
She has also worked in Rotorua previously, so it's like a return to home of likes. "I'm very excited about what the
properties and Hukafalls Jet has to offer the MICE and weddings market, they are a diverse and very unique New Zealand
experience."
At Rainbow Springs the Wairere Cafe and adjacent lawn - which is perfect for a marquee - is available for exclusive use
outside of park hours, as is the Big Splash water ride. "I've already had an enquiry from a wedding party whose guests
will be entertained riding the Big Splash while the bridal party is away with the photographer, what fun!"
The nearby Agrodome - a slice of New Zealand farm life - also has some unique venues onsite, including the Barn and
historic Bowen House, all in a tranquil rural farm and orchard setting and available for wedding or corporate events.
"There's a selection of function venues to choose from at the Agrodome, catering for up to 500 guests for a banquet
dinner," Diane says.
The Agrodome, which is spread over 350 acres of farmland, is also a great team building venue, where groups are
challenged with the likes of milking cows, stock fence building, human dog trials and stacking hay bales.
"Then you can of course add in the thrill of Hukafalls Jet at the end of a tough day, or the more tranquil option of
proposing in a glassy river inlet complete with champagne. There is so much diversity across all three options," Diane
says.
Diane is looking forward to building the MICE business. "It's a challenge to be tasked with building this side of the
business and one I'm looking forward to."
