Air New Zealand Airpoints™ membership reaches 1.5 million
Air New Zealand’s Airpoints™ programme continues to go from strength to strength with the number of members now
surpassing 1.5 million globally.
Changes to the programme announced in November have been well received, with monthly new member sign ups jumping 60
percent and frequent flyer satisfaction now sitting at record highs.
The changes include the ability for members to earn Airpoints Dollars™ on every regularly available fare and earn rates
that fairly reward the price of the airfare paid.
Air New Zealand General Manager Customer Value Hamish Rumbold says the recent introduction of new credit and debit card
products will be complemented by the announcement of a range of new Airpoints partners in 2014 as conversations with
business partners conclude.
“Airpoints is now the largest loyalty programme in New Zealand by both value of points issued and the value of rewards
redeemed by members each year.
“As we continue to grow, members can look forward to earning Airpoints Dollars at more retailers, businesses and on
their everyday household bills during the year.
“So while Airpoints members enjoyed more than 750,000 flights using their Airpoints Dollars last year, we expect this
number to increase significantly as a result of the programme’s planned expansion.”
