Youthline Needs You!
Youthline Wellington are currently recruiting for phone counsellors.
If you want the rewarding experience of empowering young people, we want to hear from you!
It is a fantastic way to meet new faces, and make a real difference in peoples’ lives.
Volunteers are trained to listen and assist callers to find their own solutions to their problems. All volunteers start by undertaking a personal development process on 8 March, before commencing full training on Tuesday 8 April, and are supervised by senior counsellors before starting phone duties.
Applications are invited from anyone who has good communication skills and an ability to relate well to others.
The service, which has been operating for 43 years, provides free, confidential telephone, text and email counselling, information and referrals for young people. Youthline counsellors receive over one hundred calls each week dealing with subjects ranging from suicide, loneliness and abuse, through to relationships, work and school hassles, and general support.
For more information, please contact our office on (04) 801 6924 or education.wgtn@youthline.co.nz
You can apply through our website: www.youthline.co.nz
Applications close Monday 17 February, 2014.
