Rachel Smalley Joins Q+A Team

TVNZ’s successful Q+A programme will return in 2014 with a strong line up for election year.
Rachel Smalley joins the presenting team alongside host Susan Wood, TVNZ political editor Corin Dann and deputy
political editor Michael Parkin. As part of the News and Current Affairs team at TVNZ, Rachel will also have the
opportunity to file stories for Sunday on TV ONE.
Q+A is New Zealand's leading political programme, featuring an hour of live newsmaker interviews and political debate. The
show will continue to be run by executive producer Maryanne Ahern who is joined by producer Claire Silvester.
TVNZ’s Current Affairs Editor Briar McCormack says, “Rachel has established herself as one of New Zealand’s top current
affairs interviewers and I am very pleased she has decided to join the Q+Ateam. I am looking forward to working with her in what promises to be an exciting year for political current affairs.”

Rachel Smalley is the host of Newstalk ZB’s Early Edition. Her career in political and international journalism is
extensive, having reported from Europe, Africa, Asia and America, covering elections in Britain, the United States,
France and New Zealand.
Smalley says, "I'm delighted to be joining such a strong team of political journalists on Q+A, in what will be a very exciting year. Politics is gripping the country at the moment, and the discussion and the
debate will only grow as we edge closer to the election. "
