SummerGlow Apiaries and the New Zealand Umf(R) Honey Association “Manuka Id” project gets backing from leading UK Honey Brand
SummerGlow Apiaries has welcomed backing from the UK honey brand, Rowse Honey, for the Manuka ID project.
Rowse Honey is the largest importer and distributor of honey in the key UK market. Its support of the “Manuka ID” project is a major win for SummerGlow Apairies.
Rowse Honey was founded in 1938 by Tony Rowse in Ewelme, Oxfordshire. They are the UK’s leading honey brand and sell New Zealand Manuka honey with certified levels of Non-Peroxide Activity.
The support from Rowse Honey, gives the public the extra confidence to know you are buying genuine New Zealand Manuka honey with that all-important non-peroxide antibacterial activity from SummerGlow Apiaries.
The “Manuka ID” project effectively fingerprints Manuka Honey from across New Zealand, against which samples can be analysed for provenance, authenticity and integrity.
The UMF® Honey Association has implemented a number of initiatives, research programmes, and quality assurance protocols in recent years to underwrite the integrity in the UMF® Quality Trademark.
The UMF® Honey Association consists of over 40 companies currently licenced to use the UMF® quality trademark. This quality mark has been in existence for over 18 years and provides protection and assurance to the consumer.
This news comes off the recent decision by Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand's (IPONZ) on the registrability of certain trademarks that the UMF brand rating system is a reliable measure of Manuka Honey's special qualities.
When you buy from SummerGlow Apiaries, you know you are buying genuine New Zealand UMF Manuka Honey.
