Clarification of reported losses by Nutricia ANZ and Parent Company Danone
Sydney, January 26 2014 - Nutricia regrets that a statement referred to in the recent financial report has caused confusion and inaccurate media reports.
By way of clarification, that report only refers to losses incurred as a result of New Zealand products recalled in New Zealand following the Fonterra botulism alarm. The figure does not include other losses incurred by Danone entities which also had to recall products across eight different countries.
Those entities received ingredients from Fonterra, and therefore had to recall suspected contaminated products.
During its last financial publication (October 16, 2013), Danone has stated that the incident will have a significant impact on its 2013 results, with full-year lost sales estimated at €350 million.
