Millbrook Resort named Top Hotel in New Zealand for second year running
Multi-award winning Millbrook Resort has been lauded the Top Hotel in New Zealand for the second year running in Trip Advisor’s annual Travellers’ Choice awards.
Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel site, yesterday (January 22 2014) announced the winners of the awards which are given to the world’s most outstanding properties.
In addition to the Top Hotel in New Zealand accolade Millbrook was also named in the top 15 hotels in the South Pacific.
Millbrook Resort head of operations Brian Howie said it was a “huge privilege” to receive the award which is determined based on the reviews and opinions of TripAdvisor travellers around the globe.
“We’re delighted to be named top hotel in the country once again. The thousands of valuable guests and TripAdvisor users who stay with us every year have helped us achieve this fantastic status once again.”
“Our team work tirelessly to ensure every guest enjoys the complete Millbrook five star experience, whether they are a returning guest or staying with us for the first time,” said Mr Howie.
“We offer a special and unique experience for our guests and our luxurious accommodation, award-winning spa, four exceptional restaurants, championship golf course and wonderful setting is unrivalled in the country,” he said.
“As co-hosts of the NZ Open, the recognition is exceptionally special for us. We’re excited to be able to showcase New Zealand’s Best Hotel to the world during the event. It’s a huge honour.”
Millbrook Resort is no stranger to award wins taking out the titles of New Zealand’s Best Golf Resort and Best Luxury Wellness Spa Australasia and Oceania at the World Travel Awards in October 2013, as well as regularly winning numerous industry, spa and golf awards and nominations.
The resort is riding a huge wave of success following multiple recent award wins in 2013, 20th birthday celebrations and continued development of the resort and its realty offering.
Millbrook Realty, the resort’s luxury property arm, clocked up $36m of sales to the end of its financial year in September 2013, a 38% increase over each of the previous two years, which were both $26m.
“Millbrook has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and a country club feel and many of our guests go on to become property owners,” said Mr Howie.
“The Trip Advisor award is just the start of what is set to be another stellar year for us with continued good property sales, the NZ Open and yet more satisfied guests.“
