Burger King employs 30 more staff in Auckland
Burger King has added its 32nd restaurant to the menu for Auckland, opening a new drive-through on Sunnybrae Road, Hillcrest this week.
“As the most important ingredient to any restaurant, we’re also excited to welcome 30 new part-time and full-time staff, bringing our total staff numbers in Auckland to over 980 to make and serve New Zealand’s best-tasting burgers,” says Burger King CEO, John Hunter.
The Sunnybrae restaurant features a TimeZone, Burger King’s new contemporary design theme and is the first restaurant to feature digital menu boards – potentially being rolled out across all new Burger King restaurants throughout the country.
“Retro-style artwork and our iconic booth-seating remain, as does a nod to Burger King’s love for great music, making our restaurant a great place to meet and eat.”
As avid supporters of CanTeen, Sunnybrae will join all other Burger King restaurants in communities around the country by hosting collection boxes for the charity in-store.
Burger King New Zealand’s first restaurant opened in Newmarket, Auckland in 1994. The master franchisee of the Burger King brand here is Antares Restaurant Group Ltd, which employs over 2600 people throughout its staff and management team.
Sunnybrae will be the 85th Burger King restaurant in New Zealand.
Burger King was founded in Miami in 1954. It is the second largest burger chain in the world, operating in 74 countries, with around 90 percent franchised.
