New Zealand’s First 3d High Definition Video Wall Unveiled

LG and Hoyts partner to deliver an amazing 3D experience at Hoyts Cinemas Sylvia Park

Friday 13th December, 2013 - The first Cinema 3D video wall in New Zealand was unveiled last night at an exclusive event held at Hoyts Cinemas Sylvia Park. The video wall stands at over 2 metres tall by 3.6 metres wide and is made up of nine LG 3D-capable high definition video display panels. When combined together the screens feature a staggering 16.6 million pixels delivering a highly detailed large screen experience. Capable of screening high definition 2D content as well 3D, the LG high definition video wall is both compatible with regular Hoyts 3D glasses as well as LG Cinema 3D glasses, delivering immersive, hassle-free 3D.

LG NZ’s National Marketing Manager, Glen Chean unveiled the 3D wall along with Hoyts Corporate Sales Manager, Ross Churchouse, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Hoyts to reveal the LG Experience featuring New Zealand’s first Cinema 3D high definition video wall display” says Mr Chean.

“As the world’s largest manufacturer of displays, LG are committed to providing our customers with an unbelievable entertainment experience whether at home or in New Zealand’s leading cinema.”

The 3D video wall was shipped over in parts from LG’s advanced factory in South Korea and is flanked by 2 LG Ultra HD (4k) TVs, the impressive 84- and 65-inch LG Ultra HDTVs.

“3D film viewing is increasing in popularity” says Mr. Churchouse. “Giving people the chance to see upcoming content in 3D seemed like a natural progression. What’s more LG’s Cinema 3D technology is compatible with the 3D in our cinemas. This means the 3D glasses for Hoyts cinemas and LG Cinema 3D TVs can be shared whether in-cinema or at home.”
LG also recently announced New Zealand’s first Curved OLED TV that went on sale across 10 stores around the country this week at an RRP of $14,999.
