Director changes for Ports of Auckland Ltd
Auckland, 6 December 2013 - Auckland Council Investments Limited (ACIL), the 100 per cent shareholder in the Ports of Auckland Ltd (POAL) has today announced several director changes for the ports company.
Director Graeme Hawkins has been appointed Acting Chairman after Richard Pearson had signaled his intention to step down when his current director term expires this month.
ACIL Chairman Simon Allen said Mr Pearson had stewarded the Ports company through a challenging period in its development.
“Richard has indicated his wish to step down to allow a new Chair to take the company through its next stages and build on the recent improvements and new service gains,” Mr Allen said.
“The chairmanship is in
capable and experienced hands with Graeme Hawkins on an
acting basis while we work through the appointment process
for a new chair to lead the board into the next stage of the
Port’s development,” he said.
The board changes also
see the appointment of new director Rodger Fisher and the
re-appointment of incumbent director Wayne Walden.
Over the course of his career, Mr Fisher has held chief executive and director roles in the transportation, civil aviation, freight forwarding and logistics management sectors, both domestically and internationally.
He is currently Chairman of Ultra Fast Fibre Limited, Eurotech Group Limited and the Property Group Limited and Tenon Limited.
