Airport welcomes further Chinese New Year charter flights
Auckland Airport has today welcomed the announcement of two more return charter flights from China for the 2014 Chinese New Year holiday period.
Glenn Wedlock, Auckland Airport’s general manager aeronautical commercial, says, “These charter flights have been secured with our major wholesale partner in Shanghai and will provide more than 1,000 additional seats between Shanghai and Auckland in what has become a high demand period.”
“Today’s announcement also confirms that Auckland Airport’s investment in promoting New Zealand as a premium destination for Chinese travellers is paying a healthy dividend for our country.”
“The charters are further evidence of the confidence of our Chinese travel trade partners, and their commitment to selling New Zealand’s high quality tourism products.”
The A330-200 flights will be operated by the Shanghai-based carrier, China Eastern Airlines, on 27 January and 1 February, and are in addition to the two China Southern New Year flights announced earlier this month.
