World Expeditions Launches New Travel Company for Youth Market called Yomads
Leading adventure travel company, World Expeditions, has joined two other major international travel companies to
establish Yomads Travel, an adventure travel brand, tailored specially for travellers in their 20’s and 30’s.
Yomads’ itineraries will offer an intimate and unique experience for youthful travellers keen to see hidden and
inspiring corners of the world with a group of adventure-goers from around the globe. All trips will be guided in
English.
Baumeler Reisen (Switzerland), SNP Natuurreizen (the Netherlands) and World Expeditions (Australia, North America, UK
and NZ) have combined their global expertise and knowledge to deliver truly unique travel experiences for what they see
as a neglected segment of the market.
As well as being well-priced, multi-activity and adhering to strong environmental principles, Yomads’ itineraries will
include lots of optional activities allowing participants to retain their individual freedom, all high on the wish lists
of the elusive youth market. Itineraries have been crafted by – or in close consultation with – people within the target
age bracket.
The first Yomads’ departures are scheduled for March 2014 and itineraries are finalised for destinations including
Namibia, South Africa, Alaska, China, India, Indonesia, Cambodia/Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Costa Rica,
Greece, Turkey, Slovenia, Georgia, Iceland, Morocco, New Zealand and Peru.
Whether you want to canoe down the Amazon River, make Tibetan momos in Nepal, stay in a river camp under the stars in
India, or trek to Machu Picchu, Yomads offer big adventures with a small environmental footprint.
According to World Expeditions CEO, Sue Badyari, who has been involved with the new Company’s branding and product
development, the global collaboration between the three international partners is the perfect platform from which to
launch Yomads.
“We recognize that travelling with like-minded people is a highlight of the Yomads experience,” Ms Badyari said. “And,
we’re excited by the idea that a ‘Yomad’ has friends on every corner of the globe, or will have after a Yomads’ trip.”
“Yomads understands that one size does not fit all and that young independent travellers like their freedom to roam,” Ms
Badyari said.
“While there are structured activities in each itinerary, there’s plenty of individual choice as well. Living the
Yomads’ lifestyle means that travellers will have the time and freedom to live in the moment to catch a sunset from the
top of that hill they passed earlier, visit the local cafe where the colours and smells were so intriguing, relax and
read a book around the campsite, or hit the local bar. And they are also assured that they won’t be travelling with
people their parents’ age!”
