Former Deloitte CEO named New Zealand’s top Chartered Accountant

Nick Main awarded Crombie Lockwood 2013 Chartered Accountant of the Year

Former Deloitte CEO and Chairman, and global sustainability advocate, Nick Main has been honoured as the country’s top Chartered Accountant, named the Crombie Lockwood 2013 Chartered Accountant of the Year at the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) annual Leadership Awards last night.

Mr Main, who most recently spent three years in London as Global Managing Partner for Deloitte Climate Change and Sustainability Services, retired last year to focus on work at a governance level for both business and community.

Deloitte CEO Thomas Pippos says that everyone at Deloitte is excited for Mr Main.

“Nick fully deserves this recognition. He is one of the few New Zealand professionals who have operated both locally and globally at the top of their profession and enjoyed success on both stages,” says Mr Pippos.

“Nick has made an outstanding contribution to business in New Zealand and internationally through his leadership, innovation and a passion for ethics, corporate responsibility and sustainability.”

This is the second year in a row that a Deloitte person has won the award, with Christchurch partner Steve Wakefield honoured in 2012.
