Cityfitness Takes Home Three
By Cityfitness, 26 November 2013
The annual New Zealand Fitness Awards have been a pretty big deal in the industry since they began in 2005. And this past Saturday 23rd November was no exception, especially for Cityfitness taking home three awards with pride. Not only did they accept the Innovation Award for the second consecutive year, Cityfitness employee Micah Lyndsay Brown, based out of Blenheim, won Personal Trainer of the year while Rick White, responsible for 65 Personal Trainers spread across the South Island, won mentor of the year. All awards were well deserved!
Gerard Fynmore, Cityfitness National Director of Fitness, exuberated how proud he was for the dedicated employees, “Micah is well known for her bright and bubbly personality that just lifts clients and all those that come in contact with her. Having completed the Cityfitness Advanced Specialisation Modules, she is not only an asset to the Blenheim club but to Cityfitness as a company. Her skills and knowledge set her apart from the rest.” Gerard continued, “Rick has been the driving force in seeing new company fitness promotions coming to fruition along with providing consistent development of his five Fitness Managers in the South Island. He never shies away from responsibility or a challenge - Cityfitness is proud to have Rick’s calibre driving and inspiring our Fitness Managers and Personal Trainers.”
This year’s Innovation Award went to Cityfitness based on their latest development - the mobile gym as part of the ‘Get Active’ Challenge, bringing fitness to the community. They challenged the nation to burn 15 million calories and have exceeded this number by a long shot. This challenge is also bringing in donations to the New Zealand Heart Foundation with the campaign raising around $20,000 for the cause. “We’re passionate about getting New Zealanders active and Cityfitness has done a fantastic job of getting hearts pumping up and down the country as part of the Get Active Challenge. We’ve also been blown away by their amazing fundraising efforts and are incredibly grateful to Cityfitness for allowing us to be part of this initiative,” said Paul Scoringe, NZ Heart Foundation’s Marketing and Communications Manager.
There to accept the award was Angela Bendall, Director of Marketing stating, “Our mobile gym has been a huge success throughout the country. We’ve already helped many on the path to a healthy lifestyle and look forward to many more success stories.”
Success is a part of Cityfitness, for both the clients and the company. They have grown rapidly since 2000 and the New Zealand Fitness Awards are proof of their continuous success.
