The show never stops in Auckland’s central city this Christmas

Heart of the City, the central city business association, is ramping up the Christmas spirit this year by bringing a brand new, pop-up festive experience to town.

Every lunchtime from the 13th to the 24th of December across a range of central city locations you’ll find live bands, well-known DJs, art installations and food trucks coming together in the name of Christmas for the first 12 Days of Christmas Carnival.

Heart of the City Senior Events and Sponsorship Executive, Erin Stewart, says it’s exciting to bring a new take on an urban Christmas celebration to the city this December.

“What better way to get Aucklanders and visitors into the Christmas frame of mind. The talent line-up is top class and diverse. With well-known artists like Nick D and Dick Johnson with their World Together Sound System, Lisa Crawley and Thomas Oliver as well as circus theatre and gospel singers, this is going to be a must-do in the December event calendar. Stay tuned to our facebook page and website because we’ll be announcing the line-up the day before each carnival pops up.

“We’ve been working closely with Simon van Praag of Fresh Concept, the brain behind the much-loved and very successful Silo Park initiative, to deliver something truly spectacular” says Stewart.

The 12 Days of Christmas Carnival isn’t the only reason to head into the heart of the city this December. Get all of your Christmas shopping done with the help of the wealth of fresh and unique ideas in the comprehensive gift guide on the Heart of the City website and daily Cracker Deals from stores including Onitsuka Tiger, Citta Design and the Auckland Art Gallery gift store.
