EOI Sought: Bus Interchange and wider Precinct

CHRISTCHURCH CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT UNIT
Market Update
22 November 2013

For Immediate Release

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are being sought from experienced developers wanting to take advantage of the huge commercial opportunities available with Christchurch’s new Bus Interchange and wider Precinct.

The Bus Interchange is one of the anchor projects in the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan and will be sited in the block bounded by Sol Square, and Tuam, Colombo and Lichfield Streets.

In addition to the interchange facility – expected to be operational by April 2015 – the development of the wider Precinct will include up to 50,000 square metres of space that may be used for hotel and residential accommodation, retail and commercial activity, leisure and entertainment, and food and beverage facilities.

The EOI document can be viewed on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (gets.govt.nz). Responses are due by 12 December 2013.

Appointments are expected to be made soon for design consultants for the Bus Interchange.

Supply of plants

A Request for Tender (RFT) has been issued for the supply of about 186,000 plants for use in the new Te Papa Ōtākaro/Avon River Precinct and North and East Frames.

Activities include sourcing, cultivating, and preparing the plants, such as trees and shrubs, that will be incorporated into the construction of these anchor projects.

The RFT can be viewed at gets.govt.nz. Responses are due by 4 December 2013.
