Corbel Construction appoints Nathan Fisher as Programme Manager, Earthquake Recovery Division
Christchurch-based construction company Corbel Construction (Corbel) has appointed Nathan Fisher as a Programme Manager
in its Earthquake Recovery Division. In this role, Nathan will have responsibility for the oversight of all the
residential Earthquake reconstruction work undertaken by the company.
Nathan joined Corbel from Arrow International, a construction company that is heavily involved with the Christchurch
reconstruction. He was Arrow’s procurement manager for the Southern Response programme being delivered by Arrow. Prior
to that Nathan was responsible for a team of 14 project managers within the Southern Response programme working on
Christchurch’s Port Hills.
A former financial analyst with Barclays Bank in London, Nathan undertook an adult apprenticeship as a carpenter on
returning to New Zealand with HK Irwin, a Dunedin builder before moving to Christchurch in 2010 to take up a role with
Arrow.
Corbel Construction’s managing director Craig Jones said, “Nathan’s team will complete some 50 residential rebuilds this
year at an average cost of some $250,000. This is demanding work requiring close oversight to ensure multiple projects
are completed on time, within budget and to the client’s satisfaction - consistent with Corbel’s Best People, Best Practice, Best Outcome approach to construction.
Corbel is best-known for its delivery of small to medium sized commercial projects and mid-to-upper end residential
projects. More recently, Corbel has recruited a number of talented people within the industry and is now able to
undertake larger commercial projects and larger programmes of residential work such as the Southern Response programme.
“The Earthquake Recovery Division overseen by Nathan will, itself, contribute some $12.5 million to the company’s
revenue this financial year with this growing to approximately $20 million next financial year,” Craig Jones said.
