Digital voyeurs look no further than Awesome
Orcon once again proves it’s closer to the online action than a Google algorithm with the launch of ‘Awesome’ - an online dashboard that aggregates top trending hits, hot off the web for your daily source of internet fun, fact and fiction.
Top ranking and trending videos, chart music, Instagram posts, Twitter trends, TradeMe auctions and Facebook pages are all streamed in an active, bustling site, sure to help you sort your ‘vines’ from your ‘gifs’ and keep your finger on the cyber pulse. (And if you don’t know what a vine or a gif is – you’ll quickly find out).
The Awesome dashboard is a constant newsfeed of global and local content, with sharable functionality through a range of social platforms, ensuring New Zealand’s growing population of digital voyeurs can see the trends in a one-stop-shop.
Orcon Head of Brand and Communications, Quentin Reade, says the Internet is everything to Orcon and so is sharing awesome online discoveries with New Zealanders keen to stay on top of online happenings.
“Content is constantly being discovered and shared at such a phenomenal rate, global and local stars emerge overnight, exploding into the Kiwi vernacular and becoming a dominant source of our entertainment and interactivity.
“Working with creative digital agency Us, we have built a site that searches the web, and pulls in a bunch of cool stuff automatically. We’ll also add the personal touch by curating our favourite cat videos and other random stuff.
“Ultimately, we just wanted to build something cool that keeps Kiwis up to speed on a range of trends from news stories, to the best GTA 5 Police chases and the world’s best beards and moustaches – perfect for Movember inspiration,” adds Reade.
