Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce congratulates Welly’s winners


Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce congratulates winners which received awards at the prestigious Welly’s last night.

Wellingtonian of the Year was awarded to Suzanne Snively, a committed Wellingtonian, company director, farm owner and economist. Suzanne Snively’s community service has included chairing WECC member Mary Potter Hospice and her efforts to widen provision of palliative care.

The Wellington Business Person of the Year award was won by Norah Barlow who has been the Chief Executive of the Summerset Group since 2001 and the Youth award was won by young innovator Sebastian Hallum Clarke, a 16 year old software developer.

Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Raewyn Bleakley said it was great to see these individuals’ contributions and efforts to support Wellington business and the wider community recognised.

“The Welly’s are a real chance to display our city’s local success and talent. The awards have recognised the very best of Wellington’s innovation, passion, and achievement.”

Other awardees to congratulate include Arts Winner Jane Campion, Education Winner Liz Langham, Environment Winner Phillip Waddington, Government Winner Peter Hughes, Science & Technology Winner Dr Richard Furneaux and Sport Winner Steven Adams.
