Wine & Tourism – a Winning Combination

(Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand) 2013 is turning out to be an outstanding year for Hawke’s Bay winery Sileni Estates. Off the back of recent local and international award success for their wines, Sileni Estates have recently been awarded the coveted Hawke’s Bay Cellar Door of the Year at the Hawke’s Bay A&P Wine Awards.

Cellar Door of the Year recipients in 2010 and 2012, Sileni Estates are surprised and delighted to receive the award again in 2013. Owner and CEO Graeme Avery comments, “We are thrilled that the Sileni Cellar Store has been awarded Cellar Door of the Year in three of the past four years. It is a credit to our dedicated and hardworking Cellar Store Team - Anne Boustead, Emily Lay and Simone Hartley; and to Sileni’s long term commitment to promote Hawke’s Bay and its wines.”

In addition to the coveted Cellar Door of the Year Award, Sileni Estates were excited to also receive two Trophies and a Best in Class for the following wines:

Sileni Estate Selection ‘The Circle’ Hawke’s Bay Semillon 2010 - SAUVIGNON BLANC / SEMILLON TROPHY

Sileni Exceptional Vintage Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2007 - MUSEUM TROPHY

Sileni Cellar Selection Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir 2013 - BEST IN CLASS

Mr Avery goes on to comment, “The 2013 Hawke’s Bay A&P Wine Awards were an outstanding evening for Sileni Estates and a credit to the Winemaking, Viticulture and Cellar Store Teams. We always seek to achieve high awards in our local competition to support our domestic activities and to reinforce what we are doing in our 75 export markets to increase interest in Hawke’s Bay wines.
