Resignation of Education Review Office Chief Executive

State Services Commissioner and Head of State Services Iain Rennie has confirmed he has accepted the resignation of Dr Graham Stoop from his role as Chief Review Officer and Chief Executive of the Education Review office (ERO).

Dr Stoop is leaving to take up the role of Deputy Secretary, Graduate Achievement, Vocations and Careers in the Ministry of Education. He is currently on secondment to the Ministry of Education as the Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Group on the reform of the Teachers Council.

Dr Stoop takes up his new role at the Ministry of Education on Monday 4 November. Arrangements for recruiting a permanent replacement and an Acting Chief Review Officer are currently being finalised. Diana Anderson has been asked to remain as Acting Chief Review Officer until the Commissioner decides on next steps.

“Graham is a highly experienced educator, an effective leader and a respected Public Servant,” Mr Rennie said.

“He has achieved a lot during his time leading ERO and I wish him well for the next step in his Public Service career,” said Mr Rennie.
