Awesome Auckland Service Rewarded
Awesome Auckland Service Rewarded
Top customer business service is now being rewarded across Auckland with the help of the region’s economic growth agency, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), which has become a major sponsor of the Auckland Awesome Service Awards.
ATEED Chief Executive Brett O’Riley says great customer service experiences are remembered long after price is forgotten, and contribute towards the region’s economic growth.
“These experiences are delivered by business people who connect with their customers. They aren’t just an asset to the businesses they own or work for - they deserve to be recognised for helping Auckland prosper and be a memorable destination for visitors.”
The Auckland Awesome Service Awards (www.awesomeservice.co.nz) profile and reward the best service providers across the region, according to customers.
Auckland Awesome Service Awards co-manager, Grant Woolliams, says the Awards are the opposite of complaint programmes such as Fair Go and Target. “Unhappy customers complain, whereas happy customers nominate people for one of the monthly Auckland Awesome Service Awards.”
Winners are publicly saluted, along with their companies.
The awards have been operating for five years and Mr O’Riley, who will judge each monthly winner, says the economic value to Auckland of rewarding and promoting great customer service is compelling.
“One of the most cost-effective ways to increase regional economic activity and business profits is to keep and up-sell customers by really looking after them.
“It applies whether a business is in retail, trade or the visitor industry.”
The Auckland Chamber of Commerce, which has supported the Auckland Awesome Service Awards since they were established, has welcomed ATEED as a fellow awards sponsor.
Chamber chief executive Michael Barnett says the promotion of exceptional customer service is a key driver of business enterprise - a focus of his organisation.
