Vector Network News: Network Summary for week ending 13 October 2013
Another stormy week in Auckland caused chaos in some Northern suburbs including a power outage affecting 600 customers
in Devonport.
Trees were toppled, a Telecom pole snapped and a roof was ripped off a house in Devonport as a wind squall whipped
through the suburb, striking Vauxhall Road at around 6.15pm on Tuesday. Damage was caused to six properties on nearby
streets.
The volatile spring weather conditions have seen strong gusty winds disrupting otherwise pleasant conditions.
Vector’s Outage Manager App has been working overtime during these squally winds. In the past two weeks, the system
supporting the app has had 30,374 hits.
GAS
Contractors working in Takapuna, Blockhouse Bay and Mairangi Bay struck gas pipes while working in the area.
